Y'S MEN'S CLUB OF ISLAND SOUTH
BRIEF HISTORY
1. Founding
The Island South Club was found by P.P C.L. Kung, Ex-Asia Area President, YM. Charles Chu and YM. Tony Chan in 1988.
2. History
In 1988, The Island South Club was established as the 10th Y’s Men’s Club in the District of Hong Kong with 27 founding members.
In 1993, The Island South Club became the 2nd largest Y’s Men’s Club in Hong Kong with as many as 40 members.
3. Significant Leaders
P.P C.L. Kung as founder of the Island South Club.
P.P Fred Cheng(President for 1992-1993)successfully established Brotherhood club relationship with Alpha Chapter in Singapore.
Led by P.P Angel Kwok(President for 1998-1999), The Island South Club had raised substantial funds for sponsoring to build school for children in rural in Gweizhou, China.
4. Significant Events/Projects
In 1992, The Island South Club became the Brother Club of the Alpha Chapter in Singapore.
In 2000, The Island South Club had the honour to be the Parent Club for the inception of Island East Y's Men's Club.
In 2007 the Island South Club became the Mother Club of the Y’s Youth Club of Island South of which is the first Y’s Youth Club in the Asia Pacific.
